Ernest Chainey
President
Is a active duty Soldier, that has been to
deployed to Iraq 3 times and currently is being medically
discharged from active duty. Ernie suffers from physical
and mental injures received during his deployments.
His wife knew he would need an
outlet when he returned home. Learning of TASF she had
arranged for a fishing trip during his R and R. Seeing how
this program affected him, he became more active in TASF.
In Feb 2011 Mike Nashif asked Ernest to become his
President and help lead the organization nationally, he has
accepted this honor. Ernie strives to support all of our
service members.

Robert Griffin
Vice President
Robert is currently
serving in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic and has been on
active duty since 2002. He has completed three tours of duty in
Iraq. During his second deployment to Iraq he was wounded and
was awarded the Purple Heart. Currently Robert is undergoing
treatment for physical and mental injuries received during his
multiple deployments. Due to these injuries he is currently
being looked at for possible medical discharge from Army.
Robert has been married for
20 years and has 5 children and 2 grandchildren. His passion for
fishing is what originally brought him to Take A Soldier Fishing.
The help that this organization afforded Robert and his family
fueled his desire to want to help all wounded soldiers and in
particular those with families in situations similar to his own.
In June of 2011 Mike Nashif and Ernie Chainey asked Robert to be
the Vice President of the organization, he has gladly accepted the
honor. Through the benefits of the organization he hopes to help
all soldiers in need.

by a friend. As a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he was
very interested in this program. After attending a couple
of events and fishing with Mike he volunteered to help in any
way possible. Mike offered the position of maintaining
TASF's web presence.
Gary also brings many years of
tournament fishing experience in Texas waters and hopes to be
able to provide quality time for anyone who gets in his boat.
"It's my pleasure and honor to try to provide quality time for
those who have given so much for our country."
